Fishing and Mosquito

 In General

MOSQUITOES. There’s nothing quite as annoying as having a fishing trip ruined by swarms of buzzing, blood sucking mosquitoes that have a nasty habit of being most active just when the fishing is at its best.

Anyone who’s gone into the countryside to do a little trout fishing in the springtime, or fished for bass on a warm summer evening can attest to that. Mosquitoes have become more than just an aggravation; they also pose real health hazards.

Jimmy Buffet famously said, “Some people claim that there’s a woman to blame…”
And in this case, ol’ Jimmy is 100% correct!
You can blame every single mosquito bite to a woman because ONLY the female mosquitoes bite!

Mosquitoes are found throughout South Africa and, depending on where you live, they can be a problem all year round although they are most noticeable from early spring to late autumn.

Mosquitoes are initially attracted to humans by the carbon dioxide contained in exhaled breath, and they can detect it from up to 6-meters away. Mosquitoes are also drawn to heat, lactic acid and water vapour, all of which are produced by humans as a result of breathing and engaging in physical activity.

Like most fishermen and women knows, as soon as you spray mosquito repellent on, or have to rub mosquito repellent in, your fishing trip is over. With our amazing Mozzie Stick from our Natural Outdoor Range you don’t have to worry about your hands getting full of repellent, or spray scent contaminating the air.

Our Mozzie Stick contains natural ingredients like Citronella Oil and Lemongrass Oil and our basis is made of 100% natural Cera Alba (Beeswax). Our Mozzie Stick will help keep away those pesky mosquitoes and even soothe the itchy feeling of mosquito bites.
